Kit Cosmetics's crazy glitter ball nail polish in Fairytale Ending just screams holidays! Christmas! Fall! even though it is 37 degrees in Australia.

Foodication | Mr. Munchies

I heard of Mr. Munchies Sushi many times from Pale Division / Willabelle Ong and really wanted to try it out for myself. So one night when we got lazy to cook, we headed out to the Sushi place that is inside the same alley way as Grill'd Burgers on Beaufort St.

The first thing that caught my eye was the mix of decoration around the place. Three doors hung from the wall on the right, Godzilla and Astro Boys adorned the wall to the left, colourful chairs and interesting lighting, I was hooked.

The next important thing is of course, the food.

We ordered a mix of sushi and a DIY salad to try out their menu and there were some yays and some nays.

To be fair, the nay was the salad, and because it was DIY, I can't really blame the chef. (It would be great if they had suggestions for the salad, like this goes good with that, blah blah)

The yays were of course the sushi. I really enjoyed the salmon and cream cheese sushi, that was my favourite, and the prawn/tuna/saffron mix was really amazing too. (Apologies for the description, I forgot the names!)

My mum wasn't too keen on how big each bite was as there was a lot of ingredients in each piece, but I don't mind it, as long as you are ok with taking huge bites (As it tastes better eating it as a whole)

Overall, a good experience, and I will be back.

Fashion Diaries | The Mortal Instruments: Clary Fray Inspired Outfit

I have been an enormous fan of the Mortal Instruments Series, so with the first movie out in theatres, I had to go watch it, and it met my expectations in some ways and not in the others.

Either way, Clary Fray is awesome and I enjoy her change into a badass.

P.S. I love my red hair.

Tips | Dried out MAC Paint Pot

I had a few MAC paint pots sitting at home that dried out, so using the theory that heat will melt it, I decided to try it out.

If the photos aren't straightforward enough, here are the steps:

You'll Need:

Glad Wrap
Scissors
bowl
paper towels
hot water (just boiled)
the paint pot/s that are dried out

1) I cut out a piece of glad wrap that is big enough to wrap around the entire paint pot and cover the bottom as well. cover the paint pot with the glad wrap without the lid, then screw the lid back on (Screws on fine with the glad wrap)

2) pour the hot water into the bowl (you can choose to put the paint pot in first) and stop when the water is in line with the bottom of the lid.

3) leave it for about 2-5 minutes (depending on how dried out it is)

4) take it out of the water onto a paper towel,  unscrew the lid, turn the paint pot upside down onto a clean paper towel, and dry the insides of the lid

5) remove the glad wrap and test the paint pot with a clean finger or brush
(If it needs to be in the water for longer, use a new piece of glad wrap)

6) The paint pot should be back to its former glory.

tips & concerns:

The paint pot itself is a glass container so hot water should not have any problems.

I have only tried it on MAC paint pots, I do not know if it would work with a plastic container

In the photos I wrapped the lid as well, but I find that it works just fine without wrapping the lid, just remember to wipe any water that might have got in.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to leave a comment! I will reply as soon as possible!

Foodication | Is Donburi

Is Donburi is a little Japanese cafe / restaurant on William St in Northbridge. I saw a few blogposts on it before and was extremely keen on trying it out. The blogs that I read it from is actually The Foodpornographer and JujiChews. I love their blogs, its like a daily visit for me.

Is Donburi has very limited seating and I'm unsure if you're able to reserve. (I'm pretty sure you are able to as I went back and they had a few tables reserved, but don't quote me.) The first time I went was for my dad's birthday. He enjoys Japanese but he also wants a filling meal, so I thought, why not somewhere that gives him both.

They are not shy on their portion-size, but its not overkill either. I find that it's the perfect amount, but for my mum who eats quite little, its too much. The first time we went, we had sashimi, sushi and we each had our own meal as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the sashimi and the sushi, with both being incredibly fresh and flavourful. Our own meals were amazing as well, and for 6 dishes between the five of us, it only cost between $100-$120. Excellent price for excellent dishes.

Second time round, I went with my sister and mum. We had a meal each and ordered smoked salmon and takoyaki balls to share. That smoked salmon sushi IS.THE.BEST.THING.EVER.

When we put it in our mouths and chewed, Oh.my.god. We were mind blown at how much flavour was packed into that sushi, but it doesn't over power the salmon. From now on, that is a must order each time we go.

Is Donburi is my favourite place to go and eat Japanese now, and we can have waffles after!

Singapore was, as always, amazing, exciting, refreshing and ever-changing, I went back for two short weeks, and although it went by at a decent pace, I came back to Australia wanting more. And Starbucks, always for Starbucks.

Bedok marketplace
Somewhere close to Marina Bay
Ion Shopping Centre
Along Orchard Rd
Christmas Tree in Ngee Ann City
Takopachi Takoyaki in Ngee Ann City

Queuing up for the Transformers Ride
Driving along Orchard Rd

Review | Let's MUK Around

I recently got tired of my curling irons with clips on them, they were great, but I haven't got much use out of them recently. I'm lazy.

I decided to do some researching into clipless curling iron and I actually had my eye on the Babyliss Pro 19 to 25mm curling iron, but the single iron was $89.95, so I continued my hunt for one that has good reviews and is also affordable me.

I came across a blog post that was comparing different clipless curling irons and it mentioned MUK Curl Sticks. I have not come across these before so I went on Youtube to check it out. There were only two to three videos mentioning this curling iron, and no actual reviews. The mentions were pretty positive, so I decided to go to the shops to see if they had these in stock, and at $99.95 for three different sizes, (11-19mm, 19-25mm, 25mm) I was pretty keen.

I went to Hairhouse Warehouse first, and they had a set of their MUK Style Stick and MUK Curl Sticks for $159.95. It was a very good deal, but I already own a GHD so I did not see the need for another Straightener.

I continued on to Price Attack and they had one last set there. I was happy with it and I bought it, and happily brought it home.
I was super excited so once I got home and popped myself down and opened it, playing around with it straight away. I decided to start with the 19-25mm so I sprayed heat protectant, sectioned my hair and curled away.

It has three heat settings, lowest on 130 degrees celcius, middle at 170 and highest at 230. It heated up so fast and I only had it on 170 degrees. I only had to hold my hair for about 5-10 seconds for each section and it took me about 15-20 minutes for my whole head. If I used my normal curling iron, it would take me almost 30-35 minutes, which is why I usually only curl the bottom.

In the last photo, you can see the curls and these photos were taken about 4-5 hours after I curled it. It stayed for so long and no hairspray in it either!

Super happy with this curling iron and I think I will retire my old ones!
